Dear Participants,
It has been 43 years since the first International Power Electronics Conference in Asia (IPEC-Tokyo 1983) was held, and we will be celebrating the milestone of the 10th edition of IPEC in 2026. This significant international conference is a testament to the dedication and support of everyone involved over the years.
The journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs. At the first IPEC, 166 papers were presented and 565 participants attended sessions categorized into power devices, HVDC and reactive power control, motor drives and control, analysis and simulation, power converters, railway applications, energy and power systems, and Industrial Applications.
As shown in the table, the number of papers doubled to 328 at IPEC-1995. Furthermore, since 2010, the number of papers and participants has steadily increased. The number of papers was 677 and participants exceeded 1,000 at IPEC-2018. This growth has also been supported by IPEC's participation in IEEE/PELS's ECCE-Asia. IPEC-2022 was held in a hybrid format due to the impact of the Covid-19. The 10th IPEC-2026 is expected to be a conference of a scale comparable to that of 2018.
Today, the development of power electronics technology is deeply rooted in our lives, impacting industries, consumer electronics, energy, and mobility, and continues to advance. Along with this technological progress, IPEC has also evolved, reaching this significant milestone through the collective efforts of our community. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all past participants and warmly welcome those joining us for the first time.
As we reflect on our achievements and look forward to the future, I hope this 10th commemorative event serves as a platform for new ideas and collaborations. Your continued support and cooperation are invaluable to us.
Wishing you all good health and happiness.
