Special Issue on “JIA-IPEC Publication Link for IPEC 2026”

IEEJ Journal of Industry Applications (JIA) has been published bimonthly since July 2012, and it has received an Impact Factor (IF) since 2023.

We are currently planning a special issue titled "JIA-IPEC Publication Link for IPEC 2026" in the IEEJ Journal of Industry Applications (JIA), to be published in May 2026.

This special issue is designed to enhance the synergistic effects between JIA and IPEC (International Power Electronics Conference, sponsored by IEEJ Industry Applications Society). As part of efforts to create such synergy, there have been initiatives like the post-IPEC special issue (IPEC to JIA, where revised versions of papers presented at IPEC are submitted as JIA papers) and oral presentations at IPEC of papers already published in JIA (JIA to IPEC), which began with IPEC 2022. This special issue represents a new type of framework inspired by similar initiatives recently implemented by other academic societies. Specifically, the call for papers for this JIA special issue will begin earlier than the initial submission deadline of IPEC 2026 (IPEC-Nagasaki 2026 -ECCE Asia-). Papers accepted through this process will not only be published in JIA but will also grant authors the right to present at IPEC 2026 concurrently.

From the authors' perspective, this initiative offers significant advantages. In addition to journal publication, it allows for presentations at IPEC 2026 without submitting a conference paper, making it a very appealing opportunity. Therefore, we strongly encourage those planning to submit to JIA and participate in IPEC 2026 to actively consider submitting to this special issue.

Please note that papers submitted to this special issue but not accepted will not be automatically forwarded to the review process of IPEC 2026. Furthermore, due to constraints such as the review timeline, some papers that cannot be included in the special issue will be treated as regular papers.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

1) IEEJ publishes several types of Transactions. Thus, please make sure to select IEEJ Journal of Industry Applications (English only) from the drop-down list of choices when submitting your paper. In addition, please choose the special issue theme entitled “Journal IA 2026/5(E) Special Issue on JIA-IPEC Publication Link for IPEC 2026” from the drop-down list at the Paper Submission screen.

2) The submitted papers will be reviewed based on the Author's Guidelines for IEEJ.

3) The authors (or their institutions) are requested to pay publication charge. See for details in the Author's Guidelines.
In addition, the authors (presenters) are also requested to register and pay registration fee to IPEC 2026.

4) Papers should be submitted on the web-based system. For online submission, authors are requested to register as a user.
